Rock ‘n Roll with the Modern Lovers is het 2e album van Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers, de band gebouwd rondom singer-songwriter Jonathan Richman. Lo-fi folky en rock 'n roll roots geïnspireerd op de jaren 50. De nummers die Jonathan Richman maakt brengen verwondering en een glimlach. Nummers als Ice Cream Man en  Egyptian Reggae (hitje in Nederland) maar ook Roller Coaster by the Sea zijn klassiekers voor de kenners.

The Modern Lovers werden opgericht in de jaren 70 door Jonathan Richman himself ander bandleden Jerry Harrison, Ernie Brooks, David Robinson en John Felice.
