Kandace Springs is een zangeres, songwriter en pianiste uit Nashville. Ze komt uit een muzikaal gezin, haar vader Scott Springs zong bij o.a. Chaka Khan en Aretha Franklin, dat inspireerde haar al op jonge leeftijd. She has a voice that could melt snow zei niemand minder dan Prince. Hij ontdekte haar toen hij een video zag waarin ze Sam Smiths Stay With Me coverde. Prince nam haar onder zijn hoede en werd haar mentor.

Zoals de titel al suggereert - het album bestaat uit tracks van vrouwen die haar enorm inspireren o.a. Norah Jones, Lauryn Hill, Ella Fitzgerald.
