Oorspronkelijk uitgebracht in 1991, was Holidays In Eden het zesde studioalbum van Marillion en het tweede met Steve Hogarth als zanger. Hun vorige album en het eerste met Hogarth, Season's End, was vrij snel uitgebracht, gebaseerd op een grote hoeveelheid materiaal die al was geschreven voordat Hogarth arriveerde.
